Advanced Health Care Directives

According to Doorenbos, (2003) living will is less prevalent amongst Asian Indian Hindu immigrants, which was 9%, compared to the national average of 15¬20%. This was positively correlated to their stronger religious beliefs, attributed to family form of decision-making. In addition, the author suggests that the ethnic groups with familial form of decision making should be encouraged to use durable power of attorney instead of living will which is individualistic (Doorenbos, 2003).
